| The culm of this giant bamboo smells like incense if rubbed. A nice, upright bamboo with small leaves, very suitable for hedges and spinneys. Young edible shoots are remarkably greyish black. Very good for construction. We avoid tissue-cultured plants as seen in the trade, and propagate only through division. May grow even taller than indicated under optimal conditions!
